In this Assignment you will examine employee monitoring and privacy. An increasingly important topic in the current interactive and social media oriented environment, many employers are faced with tradeoffs in interconnectivity and sharing of workplace communications while protecting both the organization’s intellectual property and employee privacy. Organizations work to provide social media access and communications with clients, vendors, suppliers, customers and the public while ensuring employee productivity.

Ensure that you read the material on the topics from Chapter 17 in the text and research related legal cases in the Library or from legally related websites. You can access the legal case database, WestlawNext in the Library located under “Course Resources.”

Access the Library from the top of your course under “Course Resources.” Find the Westlaw database located on the right side of the Library page.

When you see the browse menu insert your topic: Employee Privacy or similar terms.
