(2) Please, concisely, spend at least 600 words in total (not including names, references, titles,

headings, etc.) to address the question(s) below.

You have learned several variations of critical theory: (1) first-generation theorists

(Adorno, Horkheimer, and Marcuse); (2) JÃ¼rgen Habermas; (3) Patricia Hill Collins.

Discuss in what ways are each of these three approaches â€œcritical.â€ In your discussion,

supply at least one concrete example of your own for each of the approaches, and try to

highlight how each theoretical approach is distinct from the two others. To build a tighter

connection to the reading and be more specific about your points, you are encouraged to

cite exact wordings with page numbers from the textbook at least 3 times. Full citation is

not necessary; just putting down the page number in bracketsâ€”such as (p.XXX)â€”would

suffice.

(3) A good written brief in response should be clear, well organized, to the point, and specific. It

should illustrate a solid understanding of the concepts introduced in the reading. Excessive typos
