Outlining your thoughts will help you to stay organized when writing and “see” the flow of your paper.

TIP: A formal outline can easily convert to a table of contents for your final paper.

Compose a formal outline of your proposal topic. The following should be included in your outline:

  • At least 3 main ideas and subpoints
  • Conclusions
