Data Visualization and Compound Visualization: Line charts and cartoon

Line chart under data visualization is my choice and cartoon under compound visualization. The line chart shows constants and variables and then displays how they vary against each other. The cartoon shows a form of communication where the cartoons are used as actual objects that mimic a real situation. The two objects of people seem to hold a real conversation and come to an agreement.

I choose the line chart because it is simple and with fewer details. It was possible to register most of the information on it at a glance. It was not busy. I chose the cartoon because it was visually satisfying and mentally stimulating.Two people were conversing. It draws a mental picture of how the scenario could have happened. It leaves no questions or very few.

The main advantage of line charts is that it presents data in a way that is simple and easy to understand. The aspects to be compared are side to side making it easy to do so. One major advantage of using cartoons is that it is very easy to comprehend the message that was being passed across. They are faster to understand.

An appropriate situation where a line chart can be used is comparing the growth of kids from different backgrounds. A constant factor can be age and the variable can be height. This will show the changes over the years. A scenario where cartoons can be used is in class for teaching philosophy. You can have cartoons of people in a situation and the students can relate and understand a topic better from that.
