1. Your assignment is to print a copy of the MMSE and administer it to a “client’. The link provides administration and scoring directions. For this administration you will need to make two changes to the question about place orientation (instead of hospital and floor, you can substitute building and room). The three unrelated objects can be anything – (apple, bike, penny, book, tree, building, telephone, stamp, car, etc.).You will need to have on hand a blank piece of paper for folding, a paper that says “close your eyes” – the back side of this paper can be for the sentence writing, and a copy of the two intersecting polygons for the client to copy. Please choose someone other than the interview client from two weeks ago. In your write-up include the following information: client demographics, observations (think appearance and engagement), test results/interpretations, and your own considerations about using the MMSE.

Suggestion – Preview this so that it can feel more comfortable to you than just trying to pull it together last moment. It is not hard to administer, but it is always a good idea to be familiar with an instrument you are administering.
