In chapter 1, page 5 of your text, the author challenges the reader to “touch reality” by

vicariously experiencing a disaster. He suggests that you watch the community meeting

scene (about 4 minutes) in

Dante’s Peak

in which the eruption of a volcano is just

starting.

Go to the following website and respond to the questions below.

As the person in the meeting, how are you feeling? What thoughts are going through

your mind?
