Guidelines for Music Project Presentation

SONG: Michael Jackson: Man in the Mirro

1. Students will select a song that appeals to them. The song must be free of profanity and vulgarity.

2. Students will play the song softly during their presentation.

3. Students will explain and inform the class of the following aspects of the song:

A. The title of the song.

B. The artist that is singing the song.

C. Discuss the form of the song. For example which category of music is the song

classified as: classical, jazz, pop, or one of their sub-forms. See page 115 of the text.

D. Discuss one of the basic elements by which the song is put together. You may

discuss the songâ€™s sound, rhythm, melody, harmony, tonality, texture, or musical

form. See page 122 of the text.

E. Discuss how the music stimulates the senses or makes the listener feel. See page

131 of the text for more info.
