The video made it very clear for me to understand. A non numeric survey works best when your questions entail what someone likes best or better on a scale of not satisfied to very satisfied which gives you the mode, or the most frequent answer. When you calculate a numeric survey such as the price of the average car in the United States, you would use the median mode, because the mean mode would use arythmetic and calculate prices from $20.000 to $50,000, but you add in the cost of the Lamborghini for $322,000 and the results of the average price of a car will be very skewed. This extremely high price is an outlier and the mean is very sensitive to this. The median method would put all the prices in order and we would pick the price in the center. If there is an even number of prices, then we take the two in the center, add together and divide by two and that is the median.
