Leadership can be tough and enjoyable at the same time, and no gender is better than the other in leading an organization, both male and female supervisors can do best at their job if they dedicate their time at the organization. But each gender has different leadership characteristics and styles depending on the gender; female leaders are focused on completing the tasks that are assigned to them and organization with such a leader tends to realize their goals in good time (Lo, Peters, & Kok, 2011). But male leaders are only focused in performance, and this can be good to some extent because when only one team is focused on performing then they will not be willing to share the information with other members of the team and this can derail performance.

Female leaders are known to use the indirect form of communication which can be a setback to the organizations performance as team members requires constant communication but on the other hand, male leaders communicate directly, and they can detect problems in the team the moment they arise, and this can be a plus to the organization. Female leaders promote corporation and collaboration, and this creates a good environment for, but every member should be assigned a role to avoid redundancy (Lott, 1981). Male leaders prefer competition, and this kills the spirit of teamwork in the organization as the team members will always strive to outshine the other. For example, in an organization that I used to work for being supervised by a male leader he used only to foster good performance and our team members used to look for ways to achieve their best hence not willing to share information that can help elevate other team members.

Just like a mother will mentor her child to be the best in everything that they try to do, a female leader will always mentor the team members to be the best at their workplaces so that they can move forward in their carrier ladder. Mentoring and training other team members are essential as this will also help them to chip in and help one another with their work if their co-worker is not in for work. Male leaders also portray a hierarchical structure and this is beneficial to the organization as each member of the team will know what is expected of them and who to report to in times of crisis. In conclusion, both genders can make good leaders and what they need to do is to learn what the other gender is good at to be able to emulate so that they can improve their leadership skills.
