I had pick three students with three different disabilities.

Student #1 Hearing Disability– John 14 years old has Hearing Impairment

Student #2 Learning Disability– Mary 13 years old has Dyslexia

Student #3 Behavioral– Adam 13 years old has Asperger’s

Students will adapt class-wide lesson plans to meet the needs of three students with various disabilities in an Inclusive education classroom. These adaptations will include: Learning Environment (socio-emotional, physical, and behavioral), Teaching Environment (materials and instruction/instructional strategies), and Evaluation and Grading Environment.

The project must address the following in this order:

  • Descriptions of Three Students with Disabilities
    • Student #1
    • Student #2
    • Student #3

    Personalize your descriptions. Provide a name for each of the three students and describe the specific nature of the disability. For EXAMPLE:

  • Charles is a 14-year-old boy who has severe diabetes that is causing him to lose his sight.He is currently able to see with great magnification, but will be blind within a few years. In addition,describe each student’s strengths and weaknesses in academics and social behaviors.
  • For example:Charles is very social and appears to have many friends around school. He seems to have difficulty keeping track of his assignments and notes.

  • Learning Environment
  • Socio-emotional Environment and Rationale (e.g., attitude of teachers and students, self-esteem, risk-free/friendly environment, positive interaction among students, motivation, engagement, cooperation, social skills)
    • Student #1 How you are going to make student feel like he is welcome and safe?
  • Behavioral Environment and Rationale (e.g., reward system, rules/expectation, routine, behavior management techniques, positive behavior supports, schedule)
    • Student #1 What are the rule and expectation you would set in order for student to control himself and learn.
  • Physical Environment and Rationale (e.g., seating, floor, wall display, lighting, desk/work area/furniture arrangements, accessibility, teacher-student proximity, grouping)
    • Student #1 How would you set up the room and help student learn?

  • Instruction and/or instructional strategies and Rationale (e.g., objectives, explicit, direct, and differentiated instruction, instructional strategies, format of content, media/technology, homework, directions)
  • Student #1 What kind of instruction strategies would you use to help student understand? For example, student #1 has hearing problem, so how would explain student to help him understand what he needs to do in class.
  • Evaluation and Grading Environment and Rationale (e.g., formative/summative assessments, timing/scheduling, setting, presentation, response, adapted instructional materials, grading methods)

    • How would you grade and evaluate student learning skill to see if they understanding.

    You will follow these steps for All 3 students with 3 different disabilities that i have provided.

For this project, assume that you are a middle or high school teacher who has at least 20 students in the inclusive general education class and three of whom are eligible for special education services and need accommodations/adaptations for their disabilities as follows:

Students will be given an academic lesson plan that students will adapt as needed for each of the three students with disabilities. That is, for each student you will address if an adaptation is needed for each of the sections. Students must provide an explanation and example of adaptations/accommodations they propose for each student as to what that adaptation would be, and students also must provide a rationale as to why an adaptation/accommodation is needed or why an accommodation is not needed.

Using at least 6 scholarly, peer-reviewed articles (at least one article for each adaptation), a pedagogically sound rationale needs to be provided as to why the adaptation to each environment: Socio-emotional, Behavioral, Physical, Material, Instructional Strategy, and Evaluation/Grading Environments) were needed and should be implemented in the proposed manner.

I attached the Lesson Plan that you need to use (Cold War). You will have to use that lesson plan and write about how you would accommodate students with special needs.
