There are many theories that attempt to explain criminal behavior. For this Assignment you need to write a 2 to 3 page APA style paper on four theories of your choice. Chapter 1 (pp. 17–24): “Psychologists’ Roles in the Law”

Most courses in psychology portray only two roles for psychologists: that of the scientist who conducts basic research about the causes and development of behavior and that of the applied psychologist (usually the clinical psychologist) who tries to understand and assist individuals or groups in confronting their problems. The possibilities are more elaborate, however, especially when the psychologist interfaces with the legal system. Four contrasting roles can be ordered on a continuum from isolated academic research in psychology and law, on one end, to collaboration with persons from other disciplines to provide services to the legal system, on the other end.
