Health is holistic and incorporates biopsychosocial-spiritual well-being, quality of life, and self-actualization. Health addresses and reduces the harmful effects of illnesses. Can a high level of health and chronic illness co-exist? Defend your position.
Have societal influences and individual lifestyle choices more positively or more negatively influenced health? Defend your position.
Describe your understanding of the following: “Health promotion in chronic illness involves behavioral change for positive lifestyle activities, accepting one’s condition and making the necessary adjustments, decreasing the risk of secondary disabilities and preventing further disease, and striving for optimal health”.
Maximizing the body’s healing ability by combining traditional approaches to care with alternative/complementary/integrative therapies can better treat the whole person through physical, mental, and spiritual methods rather than just the pathological process.
