You will learn how to apply an evidence-based theory to conceptualize the client’s presenting issue(s) based on an intake and diagnostic summary completed in Modules 2 and 3 respectively.

Tasks:

You must address the following case conceptualization content areas in your PowerPoint presentation:

  • Provide an overview of chosen theoretical orientation from one of the following options:
    • Emotion-Focused Case Conceptualization
    • Dynamic Case Conceptualization
    • Constructivist Case Conceptualization
    • Transtheoretical Case Conceptualization
  • Identify the client’s presenting issue(s).
  • Identify the precipitating factors.
  • Describe significant predisposing factors.
  • Describe perpetuating factors.
  • Describe protective factors (i.e., strengths, positive attributes, etc.)
  • Provide a case conceptualization of the client’s presenting issue(s) using your chosen theoretical orientation.
  • Provide three initial goals of treatment.
  • Identify any potential referrals for adjunctive treatments the client needs.

Submission Format:

Your final product will be a 12-15 slide PowerPoint (PPT) presentation written in APA format, utilizing at least five scholarly sources, with title and reference slides. Your PPT should be written in a clear, concise, and organized manner; demonstrate ethical scholarship in accurate representation and attribution of sources; and display accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

You must include an appropriate amount of content on the slides and provide comprehensive speaker’s notes for each slide to elaborate on the content. Include all of the information you would use if orally presenting the information. Alternatively, you could provide an audio-supported presentation if you are able. Audio-supported presentations or videos must be submitted through the Submissions Area. Be sure to let your instructor know if you choose this option.

  • By the due date assigned, save your presentation as M4_A2_Lastname_Firstname.ppt and submit it to the Submissions Area.
