Part One: An “antihero” is a protagonist who does what he or she considers “right” with complete disregard for the hurt or harm that may be caused to others. “The means justify the end” to this type of character. The means are brutal and the end is selfish.
Discuss the rise of the antihero in American film, using a specific example of an antihero from a film that you know well. Does this character appeal to you, and, if so, why?
